Parrots Beak (Lotus Berthlotii) Native to: Canary Islands, Cape Verde Islands, Tenerife.. and happens to really enjoy our front yard. It’s grown quite a lot since I took these images, I’ll have to take some updates. We’ve had it five months now and seems to really like this spot it’s in. We’ll bring it inside for the winter months.

Here is our much loved Dawn Flower (Ipomeoa Indica — also known as blue morning glory, oceanblue morning glory, koali awa, and blue dawn flower) in a brilliant display this year. It claims to enjoy full sun.. but ours has mostly shade and is quite happy, much to our enjoyment.
One of the few plants that will bloom around here in the middle of winter. It’s fun to see it mixed in with holiday decorations. So full of joy and happiness, and smells wonderful too!! The frost has darkened the points of the leaves, but it’s hardy and blooming through it. Here are a couple of images to share.
Here is one of my families ol’ friends. We’ve had this hardy red geranium.. for what must be at least a decade now. We take trimmings of it and spread it around the yard, and friends yards. It’s a happy plant.
Purchased some new flowers for the yard to bring some desperately needed colour back in. The areas frost at the New Year forced me to trim everything back. There are new leaves at the base of my ol’ friends, but they are far from flowers themselves. The new ones are all safe against the house and I bring them in on colder nights (goes from 80º F down to 42º F at night!!). Here is a pretty Pink crawling geranium. It’s a tiny plant now, but when it matures and cascades over the side of the window sill it’s going to be very pretty!!
My Hawaiian Smiles Hibiscus just produced the 1st two beautiful flowers of the season.
Two hours after taking these images they were fully unfolded flowers.. but the buds are so pretty.. thought I would share them.
